A new era of digital gaming and revenue generation is set to begin in Osun State with the introduction of the Imole Millionaire Draw, a state-backed lottery initiative under the brand name Osun Mega Draw.

The lottery game which is designed to tackle poverty in the state would give four persons the opportunity to become millionaires every month

The Osun State Government, through the Ministry of Commerce, has officially licensed and partnered with 2 AG Nigeria Limited, the company behind the project. The initiative is spearheaded by the company’s founder and CEO, Mr. Ladi Adebayo, a lawyer and native of Ilesa, Osun State.

During a media briefing held on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at the Osun State Secretariat in Osogbo, Mr. Adebayo explained that the launch of Osun Mega Draw followed a rigorous licensing process and a landmark legal victory.

He noted that in December 2024, the Supreme Court of Nigeria ruled that only state governments—not the federal government—have the constitutional authority to issue lottery licenses, a judgment resulting from a 15-year legal battle he led.

“This initiative is designed not just for entertainment, but also to empower citizens and boost the state’s internally generated revenue,” Mr. Adebayo stated.

A Transparent, Inclusive Gaming Model
The flagship product of the Osun Mega Draw, the Imole Millionaire Draw, is a weekly televised lottery in which participants can purchase tickets for ₦500 and stand the chance to win guaranteed cash prizes. The draws will be broadcast live every Saturday at 8 p.m. across digital platforms including YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and the company’s official website.

Prize categories include:

₦1 million (1st prize)

₦500,000 (2nd prize)

₦250,000 (3rd prize)

Multiple consolation prizes

Winners will be selected using a digital random number generator, ensuring fairness and transparency. The system offers real-time sales monitoring, agent tracking, and digital ticket verification, all of which are accessible to the Ministry of Commerce through a secure portal.

The initiative also features diverse sales channels for easy access:

Over 500 POS agents across Osun State

USSD code (1714#) for users without internet access

Mobile app with wallet functionality

Online ticketing via www.osunmegadraw.ng

Economic Impact and Community Engagement
Mr. Adebayo revealed that 2-AG Nigeria Limited plans to distribute up to ₦10 million weekly in winnings as participation increases. He added that the company’s headquarters in Ilesa is under construction and will become Nigeria’s first state-of-the-art lottery and gaming center.

He emphasized that the project is also a job creation and empowerment tool, encouraging interested community members to apply as agent recruitment is still ongoing.

2-AG Nigeria Limited previously ran a successful pilot of a similar lottery initiative in East Timor, which helped build confidence in its model and operations.

As the official launch date in September 2025 approaches, the company is ramping up publicity efforts through radio jingles, flyers, billboards, social media campaigns, and stakeholder engagement to raise awareness and drive participation.
