Otti Swears In New ASUBEB Members To Boost Basic Education

The Newly Inaugurated ASUBEB Members With Prof Kenneth Kalu During The Ceremony

The Abia State Governor Dr Alex Otti has inaugurated eight additional members into the Abia State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB) as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen basic education and reposition schools across the state.

The Governor, Otti, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Kenneth Kalu performed the inauguration and charged the newly appointed members to see themselves as critical agents in the administration’s transformation agenda, especially in the education sector.

Prof. Kalu urged the members to work diligently and collaboratively toward restructuring and revitalizing the state’s basic education system to ensure that Abia schools can compete globally.

He assured them of the government’s unwavering support in carrying out their duties effectively.

Responding on behalf of the inaugurated board members, the Chairman of ASUBEB, Lady Lillian Onuoha, thanked the Governor for the approval and inauguration of the additional board members.

She pledged their commitment to teamwork, integrity, and result oriented service, aimed at actualizing the board’s mandate in line with the vision of the present administration.

The newly inaugurated members include: Mrs. Ijeoma Umunna, Chief Henry Enwerem, Comrade Friday Mmadu, Mrs. Uloma Nwachukwu, Mr. Amechi Isaac and Dr. Favour Egeonu.
