Over 6.2M Nigerians completed online pre-registration – INEC

THE Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that more than 6.2 million Nigerians have successfully completed their online pre-registration for the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR).

Figures released on the commission’s official X page showed that between September 22 and 28, 2025, a total of 6,232,673 people signed up.

Of this number, 3,250,338 were women, representing 52.15 percent, while 2,982,335 were men, making up 47.85 percent.

The data further revealed that young people aged 18 to 34 accounted for the majority, with 4,230,715 registrations.

Students made up 1,565,824 of the total, while 137,865 persons with disabilities also registered.

INEC noted that within just four days—between September 22 and 26—over one million Nigerians completed their registration either online or physically.

Out of this figure, 537,743 registered online, while 466,389 completed the process at physical centres.

During that period, women again made up the majority at 555,077, compared to 449,055 men.

Youths within the 18–34 age bracket numbered 742,379, students 354,406, while 13,987 persons with disabilities also took part.

The CVR exercise, which commenced on August 18, 2025, is ongoing nationwide as INEC continues preparations ahead of future elections.
