The son of the Olubandan of Ibadanland, Rashidi Ladoja, Shola, has threatened to release evidence that Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Debo Ogundoyin, begged him to see his father to back him for the 2027 gubernatorial ambition.
Naijaonpoint reports that Shola made this known in a post via his 𝕏 handle on Tuesday amid the controversy surrounding the alleged impeachment plot against Governor Seyi Makinde.
According to Shola, he was hesitant to carry out Ogundoyin’s bidding when the Speaker pleaded for his assistance in seeing his father.
He said, “My recent tweet was deleted because I realized a lot of people thought I meant a payment receipt. No. I meant receipt of our conversations.
“Debo on the 25th of March begged me to take him to my father to back him for the gubernatorial ambition, which I was very hesitant to do.”
Meanwhile, Ogundoyin has confirmed an impeachment plot against Governor Makinde, admitting to receiving a monetary inducement.
Oguntoyinbo, who represents Ibarapa East State constituency, in a statement to journalists on Tuesday, clarified various allegations concerning the move to impeach Governor Makinde.
He admitted that he met with the former first lady and Olubadan and was offered a monetary inducement to impeach Makinde, but he rejected the offer.
The Speaker further stated that the meeting was also to seek the royal blessing for his gubernatorial ambition.
