Nigerian fintech company Paystack has terminated the employment of its co-founder and Chief Technology Officer, Ezra Olubi, following allegations of sexual misconduct.

Olubi confirmed the development in a personal blog post over the weekend, claiming that the decision to dismiss him was made before the company concluded its independent investigation.

He added that his legal team is reviewing the process that led to his termination.

“On Saturday, 22 November 2025, I was informed that my employment had been terminated. My legal team is now reviewing the process that led to my purported termination, including its consistency with internal policies.

“They will take the steps they consider appropriate, and I will not be commenting further on this matter at this time,” he wrote.

According to reports, Paystack had earlier suspended Olubi over allegations of sexual misconduct involving a colleague.

The controversy began in mid-November 2025 when a social media post alleging abusive behaviour by Olubi went viral, prompting users to resurface a series of explicit tweets from earlier in his career.
