The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has confirmed that its Osun State governorship primary election will hold on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, following the conclusion of its ad hoc and national delegates congresses.

In a statement signed by the National Organising Secretary, Theophilus Dakas Shan, the party disclosed that it had formally informed the Independent National Electoral Commission of its timetable and preparations for the primary.

“The Party hereby reminds strategic stakeholders and the general public that the primaries to elect the gubernatorial candidate will hold as scheduled,” the statement read.

The PDP said a fully constituted Electoral Committee has been appointed to supervise the 10 a.m. primary in Osogbo, the capital of Osun State, with the exercise billed to begin by 10 a.m. on Tuesday.

The party stated that the delegate congresses held on November 24 and November 29, 2025, were both successful and had now paved the way for the primary election.

The PDP emphasised that obedience to party processes is not optional, particularly as aspirants step into the final phase of contention for the party ticket.

The party urged all governorship hopefuls to ensure strict compliance with its constitution and internal guidelines.

“The candidates cleared for the primaries are advised to conduct themselves in accordance with the party’s constitution, as any act of indiscipline will attract sanctions,” Shan added.
