PDP national convention: Saraki visits Lamido amid planned boycott

Former Senate President, Bukola Saraki on Thursday visits ex-Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido at his residence in Abuja.

Lamido is one of those contesting for the National Chairmanship of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

There are indications that both men may likely boycott the PDP National Convention being organised by Governor Seyi Makinde in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Recall that an Abuja Federal High Court had stopped the PDP from proceeding with its national convention scheduled for November 15 and 16 in Ibadan.

Justice Peter Lifu granted an interim order stopping the convention.

The judge said the interim order is enforced until the determination of a suit filed by a former governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido.

The judgment comes against the backdrop of PDP denying Lamido his nomination forms for the position of national chairman despite procurement.

Lamido had challenged his exclusion from contesting the PDP chairmanship position.
