Daniel Bwala4

The Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala has said that Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party is suffering from identity crisis.

Bwala while speaking in an interview session with Chude Jideowo said Obi has failed to define his political identity.

In a short clip of the interview seen by Politics Nigeria, Bwala said the former governor of Anambra State can be likened to a politician who specialises in using every possible opportunity to get what he desires.

His words, “The problem with Peter Obi is what we call, identity crisis. He has not defined his identity in politics so he finds himself as an opportunistic politician.”

Bwala, a ex-aide to Vice President Atiku Abubakar, also affirmed that his former boss would have made a great presisent.

He, however, stated that he is not sure if Atiku would have been a great President but maybe not better than Tinubu.

“Yes, he (Atiku) would have been a great President… but whether he would have been greater than Asiwaju (Tinubu), I doubt it now,” the presidential aide said.

Asked why he feels comfortable working with Tinubu after being a strong critic of the president, Bwala said, “Number one rule of the opposition is to oppose.

“Till tomorrow morning, the president of Nigeria told me, you are free to object any policy decision and disagree.”

“I criticised that decision for the removal of subsidy and the floating of the naira,” he added.
