Human rights activist and lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, has stated that the former Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, will never win the 2027 election.
Speaking in an interview on Arise Television, he stated that Obi will not win the election even if he swears in a shrine to be president for just one term.
He argued that the only Southerner who can defeat President Bola Tinubu is former President Goodluck Jonathan.
Adeyanju said, “I have said it publicly and I want to reiterate it that even if a Southerner were to contest, the only person who stands the chance of defeating Tinubu is Goodluck Jonathan.
“And this is because he just has only one more term. And as for Obi, it’s not a thing of agreement.
“Even if he swears in a shrine, they will not believe him and they will not vote for him
“I don’t see any Southerner candidate that can defeat Bola Tinubu, I don’t see.
“But if Atiku steps down he could support a younger Northerner, support somebody else.
“The idea that it must always be me, it does not have to always be you on the stage, you can be off the stage and be supporting somebody that is standing on the stage.”
