Shots were fired the moment Drake dropped an axe emoji, and Ebro Darden and Peter Rosenberg made it clear they were not going to stay quiet.

Rosenberg ignited the response Sunday on X, unloading on Drake without naming him directly.

“It’s behavior like this that has made it impossible for people to defend the wack s–t that he does,” he wrote. Still, the jab came with a twist, as Rosenberg followed up with, “But happy Hanukkah my one time pal. I truly wish you well even if you’re celebrating what you believe is our demise,” adding that the show’s end could actually lead to something bigger.

Ebro joined the pile-on hours later, tossing out his own pointed message. “Drake is ‘right wing’ and so is sAK,” he wrote, appearing to lump the rapper together with his loyal supporter Akademiks.

The social media firestorm comes after Hot 97 confirmed Friday that Ebro in the Morning was canceled, ending a long run at the legendary New York station. Rosenberg and co-host Laura Stylez were also shown the door.

In a video making the rounds, Ebro suggested politics played a role in the decision, claiming the station’s owners “don’t give a f–k about hip hop or black music or black community” and wanted him “out of the way.”

The fallout follows months of upheaval at Hot 97, including DJ Enuff’s exit after 27 years. Funkmaster Flex is set to take over mornings for now. Flex says he called Ebro before accepting the morning slot.
