Radio host Peter Rosenberg is sharing mixed feelings about Ye’s recent public apology to Jewish and Black communities, saying he is not fully convinced by the rapper’s message.
Speaking on the Ebro Laura Rosenberg Show, Rosenberg questioned the wording of Ye’s letter and said it felt incomplete. “I hope that this is the beginning of something meaningful,” Rosenberg said. “I respect the apology to the Black community. Why did the Jews just get an, ‘I love Jewish people’? Why no apology?”
Rosenberg, who is Jewish, added that the phrasing made him uneasy. “It’s cringe when someone says, ‘I love a certain minority,’” he said. “No you don’t. I don’t love all Jews. I don’t love all Black people. I don’t love all anything.”
Ebro Darden noted that much of Ye’s letter focused on medical issues tied to his past car accident, saying, “Black people have a long history of being abused and misdiagnosed by the medical space. A lot of this letter is about that.”
Ye recently told Vanity Fair his apology was not connected to promoting his upcoming album Bully, insisting, “This isn’t about reviving my commerciality.”
Despite his doubts, Rosenberg said he is open to forgiveness if Ye shows real change. “If this is real and he continues on this path, I will 100 percent forgive,” he said. “It’s a wait and see.”
