Manchester City star Phil Foden has become the latest England star to be forced to pull out of the Three Lions’ Euro 2024 qualifiers.
Foden lasted just 12 minutes before being sacrificed by Gareth Southgate following Luke Shaw’s red card in their 2-1 win over Italy.

The 22-year-old was expected to instead play a significant part in England’s follow-up game against Ukraine, live on NaijaOnPoint.
However, he suffered an acute appendicitis which has ruled him out of the Wembley game having already undergone surgery.
How long is Foden out for?
It is currently unclear how long Foden will be out as Man City await a recovery timeline having gone under the knife.
His spell on the sidelines will see him miss the crunch Premier League showdown with Liverpool following the end of the international break.
It coukd also spell trouble for City’s Champions League hopes, with Foden now a major doubt for quarter-finals against Bayern Munich next month.
A statement on the club’s website read: “Manchester City can confirm Phil Foden has left the England squad after undergoing surgery in London for acute appendicitis.
“Phil will now return to Manchester to begin rehabilitation.
He will not be fit for this weekend’s Premier League game at home to Liverpool and it is unclear at this stage how long he will be unavailable for.
“Everyone at Manchester City wishes Phil a speedy recovery.”
