OPPO announced its new flagship quite recently, and we’ll compare it with the best of ASUS in this article. This is the OPPO Find X8 Pro vs ASUS ZenFone 11 Ultra comparison. The Find X8 Pro is powered by the current-gen SoC, while the ZenFone 11 Ultra does come with a last-gen processor. It’s still a compelling phone, that’s for sure, and we’ll see if it can compare with the best of OPPO. It’s also a bit more affordable, so there’s that.
As we usually do, we’ll first list the specifications of the two smartphones, and will then go to compare them across a number of other categories. We’ll be comparing their designs, displays, performance, battery life, cameras, and audio output. Let’s see how they compare, as these two smartphones are not exactly all that similar.

OPPO Find X8 Pro vs ASUS ZenFone 11 Ultra: Design
Both of these phones are made out of metal and glass. To be more accurate, both of them use aluminum and Gorilla Glass. The Find X8 Pro has Gorilla Glass 7i on the back, while the ZenFone 11 Ultra has Gorilla Glass Victus. The two smartphones are very similar in terms of measurements. The ZenFone 11 Ultra is a bit taller, but they’re almost identical in terms of width. ASUS’ phone is slightly thicker, and 9 grams heavier.
Their display sizes are exactly the same. Both phones include a flat display with a centered display camera hole up top. The bezels are very thin on both smartphones. The buttons are placed a little lower on the ZenFone 11 Ultra, but they’re on the same side as on the Find X8 Pro. You’ll find the power/lock button on both phones, with the volume up and down buttons above it. The thing is, the Find X8 Pro also has a camera shutter button on that side, and the alert slider on the left.
You’ll notice considerably different camera islands on the back of these phones. The Find X8 Pro’s is much larger, and circular, while it includes four cameras. The ZenFone 11 Ultra’s is placed in the top-left corner and has a squarish shape. There are three cameras included in there. Both smartphones are quite slippery. The Find X8 Pro is IP68 and IP69 rated, while the ZenFone 11 Ultra comes with an IP68 certification
OPPO Find X8 Pro vs ASUS ZenFone 11 Ultra: Display
There is a 6.78-inch 2780 x 1264 LTPO AMOLED display included on the OPPO Find X8 Pro. That display is flat and supports an adaptive refresh rate (1-120Hz). Dolby Vision is also supported, as is HDR10+ content. The brightness goes up to 4,500 nits on the device, while the screen-to-body ratio is at around 90%. The Gorilla Glass 7i covers this panel, and the display has Ultra HDR image support.
The ASUS ZenFone 11 Ultra, on the other hand, has a 6.78-inch fullHD+ (2400 x 1080) LTPO AMOLED display. This panel technically goes from 1 to 144Hz, but you’ll be able to use 144Hz only in compatible games, basically. HDR10 is supported, and the peak brightness of this display is 2,500 nits. We’re looking at a screen-to-body ratio of around 88% here, while the display aspect ratio is 20:9. The Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protects this display.
Both of these displays are great, that’s for sure. OPPO’s panel does get brighter, but in all honesty, both displays will be more than bright enough for pretty much anyone. The displays are vivid, and sharp, and offer great viewing angles. The touch response is also really good on both of them. The OPPO Find X8 Pro has the edge in high-frequency PWM dimming, in case you care about that. The bottom line is, however, that both displays are great.
OPPO Find X8 Pro vs ASUS ZenFone 11 Ultra: Performance
The MediaTek Dimensity 9400 SoC fuels the OPPO Find X8 Pro. That is the company’s latest and greatest flagship chip, it’s a 3nm processor. That chip is combined with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 flash storage. The ZenFone 11 Ultra, on the flip side, is fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, a 4nm chip. That phone comes with up to 16GB of RAM, and it also uses UFS 4.0 flash storage.
The performance both smartphones offer is great. That goes for everyday use, and intense tasks too. When it comes to opening apps, jumping from one to the other, running them side-by-side, emailing, browsing, and everything else you can think of that you do on a daily basis, both phones can do it with ease. I have to say that the animation smoothness the ColorOS 15 delivers is noticeable when compared directly to the ZenFone 11 Ultra, even though both are very smooth devices, with no lag whatsoever.
What about demanding tasks, such as gaming? Well, the story is pretty much the same. Yes, the Find X8 Pro does have a more powerful chip, but the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is still immensely powerful. Every game that we tried to run on these devices worked really well. Neither phone was too hot to handle after a while or anything like that. So, no worries there.
OPPO Find X8 Pro vs ASUS ZenFone 11 Ultra: Battery
A 5,910mAh battery sits inside the OPPO Find X8 Pro. The ASUS ZenFone 11 Ultra, on the other hand, has a 5,500mAh battery on the inside. OPPO used a silicon-carbon battery, which explains how it managed to get such a high-capacity battery in such limited space. Does it offer better battery life, though? Yes, it does, though the ZenFone 11 Ultra’s battery prowess is nothing to scoff at, quite the contrary.
Both of these phones can go over 7-8 hours of screen-on-time, we’ve seen it with our own eyes. Such numbers will depend on your usage, of course. We were actually even able to push the Find X8 Pro well over the 10-hour screen-on-time mark during a trip to Bali. The phone didn’t die even at a 12-hour screen-on-time mark, which is kind of bonkers. Either way, you’ll likely be happy with the battery life on either of these smartphones.
What about charging? Well, the OPPO Find X8 Pro does have the edge there. It supports 80W wired, 50W wireless, and 10W reverse wireless charging. The ZenFone 11 Ultra is limited to 65W wired, 15W wireless, and 10W reverse wired charging. It’s worth noting that the OPPO Find X8 Pro does come with a charger in the box, while the ZenFone 11 Ultra does not, unfortunately.
OPPO Find X8 Pro vs ASUS ZenFone 11 Ultra: Cameras
OPPO’s flagship has four cameras on the back, while ASUS’ has three. The OPPO Find X8 Pro includes a 50-megapixel main camera (1/1.4-inch sensor size), a 50-megapixel ultrawide unit (120-degree FoV, 1/2.75-inch sensor size), a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera (3x optical zoom, 1/1.95-inch sensor size), and a second 50-megapixel periscope telephoto unit (6x optical zoom, 1/2.51-inch sensor size).
The ASUS ZenFone 11 Ultra includes a 50-megapixel main camera (1/1.56-inch sensor size), a 13-megapixel ultrawide unit (1/3.0-inch sensor size), and a 32-megapixel telephoto camera (3x optical zoom, 1/3.2-inch sensor size). You’ll notice that the ZenFone 11 Ultra does not include a periscope telephoto camera at all. All three of its camera sensors are also smaller than the ones that OPPO included in its flagship.
Does the OPPO Find X8 Pro do a better job with photography? Well, yes, it does. In pretty much every situation and with every camera we’ve preferred shots from the Find X8 Pro. It simply does a better job of balancing shots, while not pushing things too far with aggressive processing. It does a fantastic job with HDR shots as well, and it has one of the fastest shutters out there, if not the fastest one. The colors on its photos are also outstanding, and Hasselblad definitely had something to do with that.
In comparison, the ZenFone 11 Ultra’s shutter doesn’t seem to be all that fast, while the phone also lacks in the zoom departemnt due to the last of a periscope telephoto camera. The images also tend to look a bit overprocessed at times. It’s not a bad smartphone for taking photos, but it cannot compare with the Find X8 Pro.
Audio
You will find a set of stereo speakers on both of these smartphones. Those speakers are good on both phones, though the ones on the Find X8 Pro are louder, notably. The general sound quality is good on both.
What the ZenFone 11 Ultra has, and the Find X8 Pro does not, is an audio jack. You can still hook up your wired headphones to the Find X8 Pro, though, via its Type-C port. Bluetooth 5.4 is available on both phones for wireless connections.
