PHOTO NEWS: Ekpo tours Kilometre Zero of AKK Pipeline, hails NNPC, partners

The Honourable Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Rt. Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo, on Thursday visited the starting point, or Kilometre Zero, of the landmark Ajaokuta–Kaduna–Kano (AKK) Gas Pipeline Project.

He was accompanied by the Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Limited, Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, and the Company’s Executive Vice President for Gas, Power, and New Energy, Olalekan Ogunleye.

During the visit, Minister Ekpo commended NNPC Limited and its partners for the pace of work on the project.

He highlighted that upon completion, the AKK Pipeline will create significant economic opportunities, enhance power supply, and drive industrialisation, marking a new era of energy and economic security for Nigeria.

Engr. Ojulari, GCEO of NNPC Limited, emphasised the pipeline’s role in national development, linking it to Nigeria’s industrial heritage while projecting a future resurgence driven by gas as a transition fuel through the AKK Pipeline.
