Super Eagles star Ola Aina has unveiled his own limited-edition football boot in collaboration with sustainable sportswear brand Sokito, Soccernet.ng reports.

Introduced to Sokito during last year’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), when Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong debuted the Scudetta model.

The former Chelsea FC defender has now put his stamp on a pair he could be wearing at the 2025 edition of the tournament.

Sokito’s £1.1m-backed rise and Aina’s latest deal

Sokito’s surge in global attention has been one of football’s biggest off-pitch stories over the past year, raising £1.1 million from 40 professional players while expanding its footprint across Europe’s top leagues.

Meanwhile, the brand’s latest milestone is the partnership with Aina.

The collaboration elevates Sokito’s Scudetta line, as Aina joins a growing roster headlined by recent signing Millie Bright.

Ola Aina: Inside the ‘Mr Lulu’ boot

Aina’s limited-edition ‘Mr Lulu’ boot drops in a light green colourway which pays homage to iconic Super Eagles kits and celebrate his passion for Nigerian culture.

Hand-drawn motifs cover the base — wings, leaves, and the African continent — outlined in gold to reveal his artistic leanings.

The insole and side of the boot are stamped with the bespoke ‘Mr Lulu’ logo, a playful nod to his nickname.

While using the Sokito Scudetta as the foundation, Aina’s version introduces a unique upgrade of a 100% knit tongue built for enhanced comfort and improved performance.

The boots are crafted largely from plant-based materials, including bamboo, corn waste, castor beans and recycled plastic.

Only 1,000 pairs of the ‘Mr Lulu’ Scudetta will be available when the boots drop online on December 5.

Will the Super Eagles defender feature at AFCON 2025?

Aina’s involvement in the upcoming AFCON remains one of Nigeria’s key storylines ahead of the tournament.

While uncertainty around his fitness has lingered in recent months, his work on the ‘Mr Lulu’ boot and its release timing suggests he is preparing for a significant return on the international stage.

If selected—and if fully fit—Aina could debut the boots during Super Eagles’ AFCON 2025 campaign.
