The United States President, Donald Trump, on Thursday welcomed players of Inter Miami CF to the White House in celebration of the club’s Major League Soccer Cup triumph recorded in December.
The visit marked a significant moment for the American club and its star player, Lionel Messi, whose decorated career has continued to draw global attention since his move to the United States.

Trump said Messi currently holds the record for the highest number of trophies won by a professional footballer.
“I shouldn’t say this because I’m old, but I watched Pele play. I don’t know, you may be better than Pele. Pele was pretty good,” he remarked.
Trump also described the meeting as a historic moment for the White House, noting that no American president had previously welcomed Messi in such a capacity.
