The recently launched Pixel Watch 3 landed early on a lucky buyer’s doorstep and was promptly unboxed. Although there’s no professional unboxing footage of the unusually early shipment, there are several images of the premium smartwatch.
The Pixel Watch 3 ships early and the buyer posts images
Google has been surprising a select few early adopters by delivering products way sooner than expected. A few days ago, one such lucky buyer received the Google Pixel Pro Fold, a smartphone that isn’t officially shipping to buyers who pre-book the device.
Now, another consumer has reportedly received the Google Pixel Watch 3 with a larger dial and display. The buyer received the smartwatch way earlier than scheduled and posted multiple photos of the unboxing experience. These images also reveal the retail packaging of the wearable.

According to the images, buyers of the Pixel Watch 3 could expect the retail box packed inside a sturdy parcel container, which would be stuffed with protective air-filled packaging material. The retail box has an outer sleeve that has to be slid off to access a plain-looking box.
The brown box appears similar to the Nest Learning Thermostat’s retail packaging and also has a pill-shaped sticker on the back. This has to be peeled off to access the internal box.
The retail packaging for the Pixel Watch 3 is separated into two compartments. The USB-C charging puck is located on the lower level, while the top level houses the smartwatch. Google has wrapped the wearable in a “translucent, rectangular piece of protective paper that wraps around and overlaps at the front of the product” for a “gift-like reveal,” indicated the buyer.
The latest Google smartwatch isn’t ready for mainstream apps and services?
The buyer started a Reddit thread in which he mentioned his initial impressions. Several users have commented on the thread, revealing some concerning limitations of the Google Pixel Watch 3.
The Google wearable is expected to start shipping in the next few days. However, it cannot pair with the Fitbit app, the buyer confirmed. Being unable to use Fitbit means users cannot take or record blood oxygen level readings using the smartwatch.

Strangely, the smartwatch is also not visible as a device on the user’s phone. Specifically speaking, the Google Play Store doesn’t identify the Pixel Watch 3, the buyer claimed. However, this doesn’t prevent installing apps through the watch, he added.
It appears Google could be making some last-minute refinements to the User Interface. In other words, an update for the Pixel Watch 3 could address most of these quirks before large-scale shipments begin.
