‘Please Forgive Me’ – Wumi Toriola Apologises To Afeez Owo

Nollywood actress, Wumi Toriola, has reconciled with veteran filmmaker, Afeez Owo, following their heated exchange on social media.

Naijaonpoint recalls that Wumi publicly criticised Afeez in September for discussing her character during an interview on the African A-List podcast.

Afeez had said the actress’s roles in films were “similar to her character in real life”, adding that “violence is her comfort zone”.

The thespian clarified that Wunmi does not tolerate nonsense and would react to issues whenever people push her.

In response, Wumi, in a post shared on her Instagram page, berated Afeeze, describing the interview as rubbish and questioned why every rift will be dragged to a podcast.

She said, “So should we also go and rent a husband to hold the mic and spoil things? The person this sub is for knows it already. You’re an elder, please stop this.

“Must every rift now be dragged to podcasts? They gave you a mic, and you started talking rubbish. They gave you pepper soup, and you began blabbing. Am I a mad woman? Will I lash out if people don’t offend me? Have I ever insulted you before? Despite all your unfortunate behaviours, I still respect you.”

However, Wunmi and Afeeze reconciled on Wednesday evening at the movie premiere of their colleague, actor Odunlade Adekola.

In a now-viral video, Wumi approached Afeez, knelt and apologised for insulting him.

She said, “I’m sorry, sir. Please forgive me”.

Afeez, who initially tried to avoid her, lifted her after she went on her knees and hugged her.
