Police identify ‘gun-like object’ in pastor Adefarasin’s video as prohibited stun gun

Paul Adefarasin

THE Lagos State Police Command has confirmed that the object seen in a viral video involving Pastor Paul Adefarasin is a stun gun, not a firearm, categorizing it as a prohibited anti-riot device.

In a statement posted on the Command’s official X (formerly Twitter) account, the police addressed public concerns raised after footage showed the House on the Rock pastor holding what appeared to be a gun while driving an unregistered vehicle.

According to the police, Pastor Adefarasin voluntarily reported to the command, where he was questioned and provided a cautionary statement.

The stun gun featured in the video was recovered and examined, confirming that it is non-lethal.

“Pastor Paul Adefarasin, who turned himself in today over a viral video showing him holding a gun-like object, has been interrogated and granted administrative bail,” the statement read. “The item recovered is a stun gun, not a firearm.”

The police assured the public that investigations are ongoing and pledged to release the findings once the probe is concluded.
