A police constable, PC Ahmed Tukur, attached to the Danmusa Division, Katsina State Police Command, has been declared missing after he reportedly signed out a service rifle for duty and disappeared without further communication.
The incident was said to have taken place on November 23, 2025, when the officer reported for standby duty and officially collected an AK-47 rifle, bearing breech number 13492 at about 6 p.m.
According to Zagazola Makama, shortly after collecting the weapon, he left the station for an unknown location and has not been seen since.
A source stated that call, home visits, and outreach to relatives failed to produce useful leads, deepening fears around the officer’s safety and the status of the missing firearm.
The source said the command has launched sustained efforts to trace the officer and recover the missing rifle, describing the situation as “a serious operational and security concern.”
