Chelsea delivered a strong performance against Aston Villa, with Cole Palmer making a notable impact in their Premier League matchday 13 fixture.

The Blues took an early lead in the seventh minute through Nicolas Jackson, who capitalized on a mistake from Villa’s Jadon Philogene, finishing neatly after a cross from Marc Cucurella.

Enzo Fernandez added a second goal in the 36th minute with a skilful volley, demonstrating his technical ability following a clever pass from Palmer, aided by Moises Caicedo’s presence in midfield.

Palmer capped off an excellent afternoon with a stunning left-footed strike from the edge of the box in the 83rd minute.

Both Jackson and Palmer now have eight goals for the season, showcasing Chelsea’s attacking depth. Chelsea dominated possession, holding over 64% of the ball, and created several more opportunities, although Villa’s goalkeeper, Emi Martinez, had to leave the pitch due to injury at halftime.

For Villa, Ollie Watkins experienced a frustrating match, missing key chances. The team struggled to find their rhythm and remained winless in their last eight matches, placing them in 12th on the table. Manager Unai Emery is facing challenges as he navigates this difficult period.

In another match, Manchester United celebrated their first Premier League victory under manager Ruben Amorim with a decisive win over Everton at Old Trafford.

After a slow start, Manchester United broke through with clinical finishing from Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee, both of whom scored twice.

Rashford’s opener came from a deflection off Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite, while Zirkzee’s goals highlighted United’s effectiveness in front of goal. A quick second-half goal from Rashford helped solidify the team’s momentum, and Zirkzee’s contribution sealed a comfortable victory.

Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur faced another test as they were held to a draw at home against Fulham. After taking a lead through Brennan Johnson in the 54th minute, Fulham equalized through Tom Cairney’s strike later in the match.

Fulham’s performance was commendable, as they created several opportunities throughout the game, including a near miss that hit the crossbar.

Spurs struggled to control the match, especially with key players missing, and are now facing inconsistency as they have drawn two consecutive games.
