PRESIDENT Bola Tinubu has offered his condolences to the family of late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, who died in the United Kingdom.
President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, today paid tribute to the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, recognizing him as a prominent businessman and politician.
Ubah served as the representative for the Anambra South Senatorial District in the National Assembly prior to his passing.
President Tinubu expressed condolences to Ubah’s friends, colleagues, the National Assembly, and the people of Anambra State, offering prayers for the late senator’s soul and strength for his family during this difficult time.
Ubah’s death happened just two days after the passing of the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, who died at the age of 82 following a brief illness.
The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Privatisation, Orji Uzor Kalu, expressed his shock at Ubah’s passing.
He extended his sympathies to Ubah’s family, the people of Nnewi, Anambra South, and his Senate colleagues, stating, “It’s a lot to deal with the shock and pain of the loss. Jee nkeoma Ebubechukwuzo,” on his official X account.
Peter Obi also shared his devastation on X, stating, “I was deeply shocked this morning by the news of the death of my dear younger brother, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah.
“We were together just on July 12 at the burial of Chief Pius Onwuzo in Nnewi, Anambra State. I had encouraged him to continue on his path. May God forgive his sins and grant him eternal rest, and may He provide comfort to his family and all of us as we cope with this irreplaceable loss.”
Senator Godswill Akpabio, President of the Senate, conveyed his sorrow over Ubah’s death, stating that it has created a void in the National Assembly.
In a message from his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Hon. Eseme Eyiboh, Akpabio characterized Ubah as a bright light in democracy, a dedicated legislator committed to equity and justice. He expressed heartfelt condolences to Ubah’s family and constituents, hoping that Ubah’s legacy would inspire and comfort them during this challenging time.
The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, also mourned Ubah, calling him a patriotic Nigerian who worked tirelessly to improve the living standards of his constituents.
In a statement shared by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, he noted Ubah’s contributions to the Senate, sports, and the business sector.
Jibrin extended his thoughts and prayers to Ubah’s family and the people of Anambra State, wishing them strength to endure this profound loss.
