President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Bola Oyebamiji on his emergence as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State following the party’s primary election held on Saturday.

President Tinubu also praised the Osun State APC for the unity and spirit of reconciliation that preceded and also permeated the primary election conducted through affirmation.

Naijaonpoint recalls that Oyebamiji emerged after he was affirmed by the 1,660 delegates, having been nominated by one of the aspirants, Kunle Adegoke, SAN, and seconded by another aspirant, Senator Babajide Omoworare.

Announcing the affirmation, a former governorship aspirant in the party, Kunle Adegoke, said his affirmation follows the decision of the APC national working committee.

Adegoke also said that the other aspirants stepped down for Oyebamiji.

Reacting in a statement by his Special Assistant on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu applauded all the aspirants who stepped down in favour of Oyebamiji, commending them for demonstrating party loyalty and a collective commitment to the APC’s ideals.

The President urged Oyebamiji to be magnanimous in victory by embracing all party leaders and former aspirants, ensuring inclusivity and cohesion as the party moves forward in the political process.

“The journey to reclaim Osun State for the progressive fold in the 2026 governorship election has begun”, the President states. “I urge all members and leaders of APC in the state to remain focused, united, and resolute. Victory is achievable, and together, we will succeed,” the statement read.
