Popular Lagos socialite and entrepreneur, Pretty Mike, took a rare moment on Instagram to open up about the recent loss of his father — using the opportunity to pass on a powerful message about peace, forgiveness, and the dangers of glorifying negativity online.
In a touching video, Pretty Mike addressed what he described as a disturbing trend on social media — the growing culture of “aura for aura,” where people encourage revenge and negative energy in the name of matching vibes.
“There’s this slogan going around that encourages bad energy. It promotes revenge and retaliation,” he said. “But true strength lies in love, patience, and wisdom — not retaliation.”
The usually flamboyant businessman got emotional as he spoke about his late father, calling him a man of virtue, peace, and quiet strength who taught him to always rise above hate and hurt.
“I lost my father a couple of months ago. He was a man who instilled a lot of love in me. He always encouraged peace,” he shared. “I rarely speak about my personal life online, but I needed to put this out.”
