Prosecutors have responded to allegations made by R. Kelly’s legal team that prison officials are trying to have the disgraced star killed in prison.

Federal prosecutors are brushing off R. Kelly’s claims of a prison murder plot as “fanciful,” “deeply unserious,” and something that “makes a mockery of the harm suffered” by his victims, calling the disgraced singer a “prolific child molester” in new court filings on Monday.

They also blasted his request for home detention as “repugnant.” But just hours later, Kelly’s legal team clapped back with explosive allegations, claiming the singer was given a near-fatal overdose by prison staff and then yanked from a hospital against doctors’ orders.

The heated exchange comes as a judge prepares to decide whether she even has the authority to weigh in on the issue.

“Unfortunately, no court has the ability to enter an order freeing Kelly’s victims from the prison that Kelly put them in,” Assistant U.S. Attorney Jason Julien wrote.

Meanwhile, Kelly’s camp says the singer’s life is on the line, and if the court doesn’t help, they’ve hinted they may turn to Donald Trump.
