Paris Saint-Germain has loaned Dutch midfielder Xavi Simons to RB Leipzig for the 2024-25 season, marking his second stint with the Bundesliga club, Soccernet.football reports.

Interestingly, this loan agreement does not include a purchase clause.

Xavi Simons, born on April 21, 2003, in Amsterdam, began his professional career with PSG after transferring from FC Barcelona in the summer of 2019. He made his first-team debut in February 2021 during a Coupe de France match against SM Caen.

In July 2022, Simons moved to PSV Eindhoven, where he had an outstanding season.

He scored 22 goals and provided 12 assists in 48 matches, becoming the joint-top scorer in the Eredivisie with 19 goals. His efforts helped PSV secure both the Dutch Super Cup and the Dutch Cup.

Returning to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2023, Simons was loaned out to RB Leipzig for the 2023-24 season.

In Germany, he continued to impress, scoring 10 goals and delivering 15 assists in all competitions. Simons also made his mark in the Champions League, scoring twice and helping Leipzig reach the Round of 16.

His performances caught the eye of the Netherlands national team selectors, and he made his senior debut during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Round of 16 match against the USA.

Since then, Simons has earned 20 caps for the Dutch team, scoring twice, including a crucial goal in the UEFA EURO 2024 semi-final against England.

Xavi Simons’ return to RB Leipzig is highly anticipated, as he looks to build on his impressive form and further his development in the Bundesliga.
