PSV Eindhoven head coach Peter Bosz has expressed his disappointment after his team’s 3-1 Champions League defeat to Juventus in Turin, Soccernet.football reports.

Bosz, in his post-match analysis, suggested that Arsenal, who thrashed PSV last season, are a superior team compared to the Italian giants.

Despite a strong start, PSV were undone by defensive errors, allowing Juventus to dominate and secure a comfortable victory in their opening group stage match.

Bosz, speaking after the match, drew comparisons between the defeat in Turin and a similar result from last season when PSV were humbled 4-0 by Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal in London.

While the performances reminded him of that loss, Bosz insisted that the quality of the opposition was markedly different.

“It’s almost a deja vu with last year, where we lost 4-0,” Bosz told Ziggo Sport (via VoetbalPrimeur). “It’s ‘only’ 3-1 now, but I think Arsenal is better than Juve.”

Bosz further explained that PSV’s loss to Arsenal last season came with his best squad fully fit, unlike the Juventus game, where several key players were absent.

“Last year we had the team together, we were fit and we could field everyone,” Bosz added. “Now you’re waiting for guys who are coming back. That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t have done better.”

Despite the disappointment, Bosz’s assessment highlights the strength of Arsenal, who will begin their Champions League campaign on Thursday when they face Atalanta in Bergamo, aiming to replicate their European form from last season.
