MTO Square

Rapper Tay-K has been convicted of murder for a second time after he was found guilty of fatally shooting a photographer while on the run from police cops.

A Bexar County, Texas jury found him guilty in the 2017 shooting death of 23-year-old photographer Mark Anthony Saldivar during an attempted robbery. At the time, Tay-K was on the run after escaping house arrest for a prior murder charge. The jury acquitted him of capital murder but convicted him of murder, carrying a potential sentence of five to 99 years in prison.

The rapper, known for his hit single “The Race,” would have received a life sentence without parole if he had been found guilty of capital murder.

This conviction adds to his existing 55-year sentence for a 2016 home invasion that led to the death of Ethan Walker.

He is now facing an additional five to 99 years in prison.

Tay-K was 17 when he was first arrested. He is now 24.
