Rasheedat Ajibade joins PSG from Atletico Madrid

SUPER Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade has completed a switch to Paris Saint-Germain after leaving Atletico Madrid.

The forward will play alongside her Nigeria international teammate Jennifer Echegini who joined PSG in 2024.

PSG announced Ajibade’s arrival today with a short video on their social media accounts, with Echegini showing her around the club grounds before her face is revealed in the dressing room where a club jersey is waiting.

“Rasheedat Ajibade signs with Paris Saint-Germain until 2027,” the club stated on X moments after the video.

“Paris Saint-Germain is pleased to announce the arrival of the Nigerian footballer, who has committed to the Club until June 30, 2027.”

Ajibade, 25, began her career with FC Robo in Lagos and joined Atletico Madrid in January 2021, making 136 appeaeances in the Spanish top flight with 40 goals.

At international level, Ajibade has played for Nigeria U-17s and U-20s and won two Women’s Africa Cup of Nations titles with the Super Falcons.

She was named Player of the Tournament at the last WAFCON in Morocco in July after captaining the Super Falcons to a record-extending 10th title.
