Ray J has filed a countersuit against Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner after the pair sued him for defamation, doubling down on his accusation that they were involved in releasing the infamous sex tape.
In new court documents obtained by TMZ, he claims their lawsuit is about punishing for defending the truth.
“Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner’s lawsuit is not about defamation — it’s about publicity, power, and punishment,” Ray J declared.
Ray J insists that Kim willingly filmed the tape with him in 2003 and that they allegedly discussed releasing it together in 2006. He says Kim even suggested that Kris should manage the release. According to him, the two women are upset because he refuses to continue supporting what he calls their long-running story about the tape leaking without Kim’s consent.
“[Jenner and Kardashian] have spent two decades peddling the false story that the sex tape that Kardashian filmed with [Ray J] was leaked against her will,” he alleged in the documents.
The filing also alleges that Kris, Kim, and Kanye West falsely portrayed him on their Hulu show by suggesting he sexually assaulted Kim while she was asleep, released revenge porn, and attempted extortion.
Ray J claims that after he pushed back through legal channels, the Kardashians agreed to pay him $6 million and stop mentioning the tape on their show. He says they broke that agreement almost immediately by discussing it on camera.
Howard King, Ray J’s attorney, argued that his client will not allow Kim and Kris to use the courts to control the narrative. Kardashian and Jenner’s lawyer, Alex Spiro, dismissed the filing as a desperate attempt to distract from a weak case and said Ray J will lose this one as well.
