Ray J is facing new scrutiny after a volatile Thanksgiving confrontation at his Los Angeles home escalated into a police response, an arrest and intense public backlash… but the artist denies the allegations made against him.

The recording artist acknowledged to TMZ that he felt overwhelmed and fearful when his ex-wife, Princess Love, arrived with relatives to pick up their children. Hours earlier, he appeared live on a streaming platform, accusing Love and her family of trying to take his kids and claiming he felt threatened.

Viewers saw him briefly display a firearm before walking off camera to confront the group.

The tense exchange unfolded with the couple’s children nearby. In the livestream audio, Love repeatedly accused him of pointing the gun at her, a claim he later denied. He insisted he would never aim a weapon at anyone and maintained that he grabbed it only because he felt unsafe and disliked what he described as aggressive behavior in his home.

At one point during the altercation, he was heard shouting explicit threats as the camera shifted out of view.

Ray J told TMZ that Love’s cousin’s husband tackled him during the dispute. Police ultimately arrived in force, something Ray J said frightened his children. Officers arrested him on suspicion of making a criminal threat. He was booked and later released on $50,000 bail.

Despite the incident, Ray J told TMZ he still cares deeply for Love. She has since urged him to accept responsibility and seek treatment.
