The member representing Aba North/Aba South Federal constituency in the National Assembly, Alex Ikwechegh says the threat by a group to recall him from Abuja for endorsing the re-election of Governor Alex Otti cannot distract him.
The lawmaker, who was elected on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, said he committed no sin for saying the truth.
Speaking through George Ezeikpe, a senior media director in his office in Aba, Ikwechegh said he should not be crucified for telling the truth about the developmental and economic realities in Aba Federal constituency and other parts of Abia.
Ikwechegh maintained that he still enjoys the strong support of Aba people and would not lose sleep over the recall threat.
“What sin has Honourable Ikwechegh committed for saying the truth about what the Governor has done?
“He won’t be bothered or distracted by the recall threat”, said Ezeikpe.
DAILY POST reports that a group, Aba Ngwa Indigenous Movement had threatened to trigger a recall process against Ikwechegh unless he urgently convenes a town hall meeting to explain his participation in the endorsement of Otti by Old Bende People.
The group, whose position was made known by Rowland Ajuzieogu, Adimchinobi Nwaigwe, Jamike Ikonne, among others, cried out that the Rep member’s position did not reflect the interest or mandate of Aba North and South constituents.
