Redmi Note 12S Might Just Be a Slightly Better Version of Note 11S

Earlier this month, we got the news that Xiaomi is gearing up to release the Redmi Note 12S in the European market. It came from a reliable tipster, and the news came with the phone’s core specs. About just two weeks later, another tipster spotted the phone on FCC. And that listing cleared up all the doubts that fans had about the device.

So, from what it seems like, the Redmi Note 12S will not be a brand-new phone. Instead, Xiaomi will just repack the Note 11S with better charging speed. That is, if you are currently using a Note 11S, you really do not have many reasons to upgrade the phone.

Core Specs of Redmi Note 12S Revealed

The device spotted on FFC comes with a 2303CRA44A model number. It went through ECC certification along with 23030RAC7Y. Looking deeper into the numbers, the FCC states that the original version of the Redmi Note 11S is 2303CRA44A. That means the Redmi Note 12S might bear the 23030RAC7Y model tag.

Nonetheless, the FCC states that the new version comes with a couple of changes. The first highlight is that the phone has a different charger, camera, and cable. According to the info in the FCC listing, the upcoming Note 12S is likely to support up to 67W fast charging. In comparison, the Note 11S was rated at 33W.

Regarding other specs, the Redmi Note 12S will retain the 90Hz display found in the Note 11S. It is a 6.43-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel. The phone will also stick with MediaTek Helio G96 SoC, dual stereo speakers, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, an IR blaster, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Unfortunately, there is no clear information about the new camera that the Note 12S will likely come with. But hey, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 series is debuting in the global markets on March 23. So, you can expect to know all about the phone pretty soon.
