The Commissioner of Police in Rivers State, CP Olugbenga Adepoju has been Recognized for Policing Excellence by the Security and safety awards Scheme for his efforts in crime prevention, crime management and control in Rivers state and Beyond
This award ceremony which coincided with the first of its kind Luncheon for Journalists as Rivers CP alongside members of his Management team Host members of Crime Correspondents, online media practitioners to congenial happy hour on Thursday, 30th January 2025 
CP Adepoju in his opening remarks said they are celebrating the press to show their appreciation for what they are doing in terms of promoting the good works of the Police.
CP Adepoju urged them to Continue to project the police in good light and tell people their successes adding that one of the ways to show, they value member of crime correspondent is to celebrate them as they have been very good partners and very useful.
Our correspondents reports that the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Finance and Administration, DCP Samuel Erale, Deputy Commissioner of Police Operations, DCP Al-Hassan Kawu were present at the celebration .
Also present is the Deputy Commissioner of Police incharge of State Criminal Investigation And Intelligence Department (SCIID) DCP Sirajo Lukman, Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, Head of Tactical units and members of Crime correspondents from various media platforms.
