The Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, on Friday voiced his frustration over the current budgetary allocation for road infrastructure.
Speaking during a budget defence session in Abuja, Umahi emphasised that improving the sector cannot be solely reliant on budgetary provisions.
He highlighted the limitations of the current funding framework and called for alternative financing methods, including loans, to meet the nation’s infrastructure needs.
“I agree with Mr. President that the improvement of the road sector cannot be achieved through budgetary appropriation alone. We must support the President in seeking additional funding, including loans if we genuinely want to see improvements,” Umahi said.
