Robert Pattinson & Denzel Washington Start Filming Netflix Heist Movie Here Comes The Flood

Twilight and The Batman star Robert Pattinson revealed a brand-new filming update about his upcoming heist movie, Here Comes the Flood, with Denzel Washington. Pattinson is best known for starring in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, the Twilight Saga movies and The Batman.

His next film, Die My Love with Jennifer Lawrence, will be released in theaters on Friday, November 7.

While promoting Die My Love, Pattinson revealed to IndieWire where production stands on Here Comes the Flood, a Netflix movie he’ll be starring in with Washington and Daisy Edgar-Jones.

When asked if he’s currently filming the heist film, the actor confirmed that he was in New York “this week” to do just that, which means he started working on the movie while simultaneously promoting Die My Love.

Here Comes the Flood centers on a war veteran who is given an opportunity to pull off a heist at the bank he works at, with the help of an international thief.

He decides to turn the tables by working with one of his co-workers, whom he’s in love with, to walk away with the money and have the thief take the fall for the crime.

During the same interview, Pattinson played coy about his role in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, but he did confirm his involvement in Dune: Part Three, The Drama and Primetime; all three films will be released in 2026. Then in 2027, the actor will reprise his role as the iconic superhero Batman in The Batman: Part II.

Pattinson isn’t a stranger to Netflix, having starred in The King and The Devil All the Time.

The same goes for Here Comes the Flood director Fernando Meirelles, who directed the Netflix film The Two Popes, which starred Anthony Hopkins and Jonathan Pryce, and earned him a BAFTA nomination for Outstanding British Film. He also received Oscar and Golden Globe nominations for City of God and The Constant Gardener, respectively.

By contrast, Here Comes the Flood is Washington’s very first Netflix film, though he has produced films for the streamer, like Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and The Piano Lesson.

Aside from Meirelles, Simon Kinberg, best known for his work on several X-Men movies and The Martian, wrote the script for Here Comes the Flood. The producers are Meirelles, Kinherg and Audrey Chon.

Pattinson may have just started filming Here Comes the Flood, but reports indicate that production began in the latter half of September 2025, with filming expected to conclude in January 2026. A release date has not been announced yet.
