Robyn Griggs, who starred on the soap operas One Life To Live and Another World, dies aged 49

Robyn Griggs, the actress best known for her leading role in soap operas such as One Life To Live and Another World, has died at the age of 49.

Grigg’s father announced on her Facebook page late last week that she had been admitted to a hospice and the report revealed that she had passed away on Saturday, August 13.

The actress previously shared that she had been diagnosed with cervical cancer and in July she revealed that four new tumors had been discovered, according to UKTN.

“It is with a heavy heart that I have to announce the passing of Robyn,” the Facebook post announcing her death began. “But she doesn’t suffer anymore and would like us to remember that and the good memories.”

The author, who was not identified by name, added: “She wanted to help people and spread her story to do it. I was honored to do that. RIP my friend, I love you and smile when I think of you.’

Griggs began her career as a child actor, but her breakthrough came when she joined One Life To Live for a six-episode run that began in April 1991.

She rose to fame with an upgraded character on Another World, which she began filming in 1993.

She starred as Maggie Cory for two years.

Griggs was born on April 30, 1973 in Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania.

She debuted in the late 1980s on the Nickelodeon series Rated K, a Siskel and Ebert-style show where kids rated new movies.

After her stint on Another World, Griggs took nearly a decade off before returning to the screen with various roles in low-budget films in the early 2000s.

Most were horror films, including Sever Injuries (2003), Dead Clowns (2004) and The Absence Of Light (2006).

She announced that she had been diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2020.
