Rapper Rod Wave is pushing back hard against a $27 million lawsuit filed by Grizzly Touring, calling the company’s claims “baseless” while launching his own countersuit and unveiling a new tour.

In fresh court filings submitted Monday in Florida, the “SoulFly” artist denied all allegations from Grizzly Touring, which accuses him of breaching contract obligations tied to his 2023 “Last Lap” tour. Grizzly claims it’s owed millions in unrecouped advances after Wave allegedly failed to complete several scheduled performances.

In a statement to TMZ Hip Hop, Rod Wave’s team said he remains “committed to delivering first-class concerts that his fans expect — and deserve,” calling the lawsuit “an unfortunate extension of [Grizzly’s] prior failed attempts to trap Rod Wave into an exclusive arrangement.”

The statement continues: “Grizzly Touring has no one to blame but itself. Had it not grossly mismanaged the Last Lap tour — repeatedly changing the schedule and canceling concerts at the last minute — the tour would have been completed as intended.”

Rod Wave contends that he successfully completed the tour’s first leg but was forced to cancel later dates due to what he describes as Grizzly’s poor planning and rerouting, which caused technical and logistical problems on the road. His team argues that any advances cannot be recovered because of Grizzly’s alleged contract breaches, and they’re asking a judge to nullify the deal’s exclusivity clause so he can freely book future shows.
