Police in Kenya are currently investigating a tragic incident that occurred on February 11, 2025, in the Githogoro area near Runda, Nairobi. A woman, identified as Monica Junior Wa Githogoro, is suspected of killing her three children before taking her own life.
Reports suggest that the mother used bedsheets to strangle her children and then hanged herself inside their home. The bodies were discovered by her husband, Junior Wa Githogoro, who had returned home from a night shift. He immediately alerted neighbors, who contacted the police.
Gigiri Deputy Police Commander Fredrick Alata confirmed that a suicide note was found at the scene, which is being investigated to determine both its author and the underlying motive for the tragic events.
