Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 as its top-of-the-line foldable smartphone offerings for the Indian market. The company’s newest foldable phones feature bleeding-edge tech display tech and premium hardware. The USP of this year’s Samsung foldable smartphones has been the under-display camera (UDC) on the foldable screen. Although not as good in terms of quality, the 4MP UDC can be used for video calls. Samsung is rumoured to improve the UDC performance in its next foldable. According to a new leak, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 could feature two UDC modules. Tipster Tron, citing the blog Naver, has also shared some details about the Galaxy Z Flip 4. Let’s take a look at the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 camera details and other rumoured improvements.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 rumoured upgrades

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 is months away from its official launch. The foldable smartphone is expected to launch in August 2022. Ahead of the official unveiling at the Galaxy Unpacked event, a leak from the blog Naver suggests some key improvements coming up in Samsung’s premium foldable. The report states that the Galaxy Z Fold 4 might feature an improved UDC compared to the current generation model. It also states that Samsung might use the tech for both the displays (main and cover).

In addition to this, Samsung is also focusing on improving the camera performance of the upcoming Fold 4. It is said to have flagship-grade cameras, much like what we can expect from the upcoming Galaxy S22 series. Other improvements include a new hinge mechanism, reduction in weight and improved water, dust resistance.

The battery capacity is expected to remain the same as the Z Fold 3. This means that the device could feature a 4400 mAh cell under the hood.

According to the report, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 is also likely to get introduced to the UDC tech. Samsung reportedly has prototypes of both, a hole-punch display and another one with UDC. Depending on the progress, the company might opt for either of the two front camera technology. It is also being rumoured to get an improved hinge and water, dust resistance.

It is too early to confirm these leaks and we, therefore, suggest taking them with a pinch of salt.
