Samsung's Galaxy Tab S10 series is here, starting at $999

Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra 2 scaled

Samsung has now officially announced the Galaxy Tab S10 series and it’s pretty much everything you thought it was based on the leaks, including the fact that Samsung is only releasing two variants of the tablet this year. Those two models include the Galaxy Tab S10 Plus starting at $999.99, and the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra starting at $1,199.99. Samsung chose to forego the regular Galaxy Tab S10 model this year and focus on the mid-range and high-end models.

Samsung will offer multiple versions of the Galaxy Tab S10 Plus and Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra that have slightly varying specs, although this really only boils down to the amount of RAM and storage. The base model Galaxy Tab S10 Plus will offer 256GB of storage, but you can bump up to 512GB for an extra $200, bringing the total end price up to $1,199.99 for the Plus. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra also starts with 256GB and can go up to 512GB for an end price of $1,319.99.

There’s also now a 1TB model this year that will retail for a whopping $1,619.99. All variations will come with 12GB of RAM across the board.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 series is ready to handle your tasks thanks to AI

Samsung has been integrating Galaxy AI into its devices since the launch of the Galaxy S24 series at the beginning of this year. Now, Galaxy AI is coming to tablets with the Galaxy Tab S10 Plus and Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra. All the usual things you could do with Galaxy AI up till now will be present, but things that should stand out to tablet owners will be things like Drawing Assist and Note Assist. With the use of the S Pen, you can use either of these features to make things easier.

Note Assist, for example, will help you summarize lectures and transcribe talks with ease. There’s also a Sketch-to-Image feature that Samsung says can help users “turn their imagination into reality.” Circle-to-Search is included too, of course, making it much easier to find out a little more information about that product or item you saw online.

New this year will be a dedicated Galaxy AI key on the new Book Cover Keyboard accessory. So if you pick that up it should be much easier (and more convenient) to interact with Samsung’s Galaxy AI software.

Big dynamic displays for rich color

Samsung hasn’t done a whole lot different with the displays this year, at least in terms of size. The Galaxy Tab S10 Plus will come with a 12.4-inch display and the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra will have the larger 14.6-inch display. Both versions will use Dynamic AMOLED 2X panels that “offer a vibrant yet natural viewing experience, even outdoors.”

The “even outdoors” part refers to the Anti-Reflection feature of the displays. So, basically you won’t have to worry about having a hard time seeing anything on the screen. The displays on both tablets also have a refresh rate of 120Hz, so these should be great for general browsing as well as mobile gaming. In addition to the display specs, both tablets will come running on Android 14 and will use a MediaTek Diemsnity 9300+ chipset.

Both tablets also support expandable storage via microSD cards up to 1.5TB in size on top of their internal storage amounts. In terms of battery life, the Galaxy Tab S10 Plus will come with a 10,090mAh battery and the Ultra model will have a 11,200mAh battery. Both will charge at 45W.

Pre-orders begin today

If you’re looking to get your hands on either of these new tablets, pre-orders start today. The tablets will launch officially on October 3, though, which means you should be able to outright buy one starting next week. Samsung says they’re available in select markets, but that’s likely most major markets where it already sells its biggest devices. So if you were able to purchase the Galaxy Tab S9 series last year, chances are you can buy either of these new models.

In addition to the Galaxy Tab S10 series, Samsung also announced the Galaxy S24 FE, and the Galaxy Watch FE.
