Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and his wife, Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, cast their votes on Saturday at exactly 11:10 a.m. at Ward E3, Adeniji Adele, Lagos Island, during the ongoing Local Government Elections in the state.
The governor was accompanied by the Chairman of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC), Justice Bola Okikiolu-Ighile (retd.), as well as other top officials and dignitaries.
The voting exercise at the polling unit was described as orderly and smooth, with officials of LASIEC efficiently coordinating the process. A team of security personnel was also on the ground to ensure calm and enforce election guidelines.
Naijaonpoint had earlier reported that voting commenced smoothly on Saturday morning at Polling Unit 007, located within St. Stephen’s Nursery and Primary School, Adeniji Adele, Lagos Island, where Sanwo-Olu voted in the ongoing local government elections across Lagos State.
Officials of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) arrived at the polling unit promptly and began setting up for the electoral process, which officially started at 8:00 a.m., in line with the commission’s schedule.
Among the early voters was the Senior Special Assistant on New Media to the Governor, Jubril Gawat, who exercised his franchise shortly after voting commenced.
