Centurion Registrars Limited has been sanctioned by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for regulatory violations.

The sanctions are effective immediately, according to a statement from the SEC, the primary regulator of Nigeria’s capital market, issued on Friday, March 14.

In the notice signed by its management to inform the public, the commission emphasized that its actions were in accordance with the regulations governing the operations of the Nigerian capital market.

The SEC stated that Centurion Registrars Limited, its directors, along with sponsored individuals, have been suspended from engaging in capital market activities.

The commission also called on other regulatory bodies, including the Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX), Institute of Capital Market Registrars (ICMR), Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS), Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS), and all Capital Market Trade associations, to halt any capital market-related dealings with the company.
