Nollywood actress Laide Bakare is celebrating her daughter as she turns 18 today, September 3rd.
Sharing adorable photos of the celebrant, she expressed excitement about her daughter officially stepping into adulthood, noting it felt like just yesterday she held her in her arms as a baby.

Laide apologised for the rushed birthday photoshoot, explaining that it was because of her tight schedule. The movie star said she wished she had more time to make everything as perfect and beautiful as she deserves.
The Yoruba actress appreciated her daughter for loving her exactly as she is, accepting her, understanding her and loving her with such a beautiful heart.
“I honestly don’t know where the years went. It feels like just yesterday I held you in my arms as my baby, and today, Similoluwa Chelsea Aliya OK is 18!
My baby girl has officially stepped into adulthood, and my heart is filled with so many emotions.
I’m sorry that your birthday shoot was done in such a rush because of my very tight schedule. I wish I had more time to make everything as perfect and beautiful as you deserve. But I hope you know that even when life gets busy, my love for you never gets busy, never gets tired, and never gets smaller.
Thank you, Similoluwa, for loving me exactly as I am. Thank you for accepting me, understanding me, and loving your mummy with such a beautiful heart.
You have no idea how much that means to me. You are one of the greatest gifts God has ever given me, and I will forever be grateful that He chose me to be your mother.
And honestly, Chelsea, look at you!
You replicated my entire beautiful look! Seeing my beauty reflected in you makes my whole world light up. You are my beautiful reflection, my mini-me, my answered prayer, and one of the biggest reasons my heart smiles.
As you step into this beautiful new chapter of adulthood, my prayer is that God will order your steps, protect you from every evil, bless you beyond your expectations, and surround you with genuine love, favour, wisdom, and beautiful opportunities. @simlineboss Photoshoot @kennylekky_views”.

On Simi’s 7th birthday, Laide appreciated her daughter for being a good girl. She noted how her daughter is a better version of herself as she appreciated her for always supporting and learning from her without doubt.
To celebrate her day, Laide went all out for her daughter, throwing a lavish birthday party at the Oriëntal Hotel in Lagos, which was attended by the likes of Biola Bayo and Ayo Olaiya.
One of the event’s highlights was when Similoluwa gave her speech at her party, breaking down in tears as she spoke about her mother. She praised her mother for being strong and the best, and noted how Laide went the extra mile, despite the economy, to make her happy and give her her heart’s desire.
Last year, Laide in a chat, revealed that she was the one who first introduced her daughter to clubbing and alcohol at age 17.
The shocking revelation didn’t sit well with social media users, who mercilessly dragged her.
Reacting to the backlash, on her Instagram page, Laide said she didn’t introduce her daughter to alcohol but only took her to a club. She explained that it was to give her a bit of exposure towards the future, and she isn’t as bad as people think.
In a follow-up post, Laide made it known that she and her daughter were innocent, and she never introduced her to alcohol.
