Senate President Akpabio not a killer – Akwa Ibom elder

Godswill Akpabio

An Akwa Ibom elder and a former member of the state’s House of Assembly, Nse Ntuen has allayed fears and insinuations that the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio is a killer.

Ntuen who claims to have known the Senate President for over 50 years rubbished a malicious campaign which emanated from a relative of Akpabio over the week.

Recall that Patience Ibanga Akpabio, a sister-in-law to the Senate President had in a viral video alleged that Nigeria’s number three man is a daredevil killer.

However, refuting Patience’s claim, Ntuen said the campaign and accounts of incidents given by the lady are inconsistent and aimed at rubbishing the image of the Senate President.

Also a former chairman of Essien Udim Local Government Area, Ntuen said such allegations are without fact, common sense and only emerge from years of bitterness harboured by Patience.

According to him, such character demeans public discourse and disrespects the values of decency for which the Akwa Ibom people are known.

“We must never allow a culture of reckless falsehood to replace dialogue and truth. These claims are not merely offensive; they represent a conscious attempt to erode the dignity of honest leadership and to sow unnecessary discord among a people united by shared history and respect,” Ntuen said.

Further aligning himself with the Greater Akpabio Family resolution, Ntuen said the attack is not only meted out on the Senate President but also on his entire family members.

He called on the general public to disregard such a claim while stating that Akpabio has since continued to showcase unprecedented leadership attributes in the various offices which he has led.

“What Nigeria needs today are builders and not destroyers; thinkers and not rumour peddlers. Senator Akpabio has chosen to be a builder, and history will vindicate that choice.

“We stand with our leader, our brother, and our pride. Those who traffic in falsehood will find that truth is patient but enduring. The focus now must remain on the great task of nation-building, to which Senator Akpabio continues to dedicate himself with calmness, clarity, and conviction,” Ntuen added.
