Senator Udende Hails APC’s Internal Dispute Resolution Mechanisms

MAKURDI – Senator Emmanuel Udende, representing Benue North-East Senatorial District (Zone A), of Benue State, has described the appeal processes of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the senatorial zone, and indeed Benue state, as a demonstration of justice.

The senator who stated the need for reconciliation and unity among party members in the state as well as the senatorial district, appreciated the support he received from the people of the senatorial district during the party primaries.

Jerry Iorngaem, Special Assistant (SA), to Senator Udende, on Media and Publicity, disclosed this in a statement made available to INDEPENDENT in Makurdi on Thursday.

He therefore commended party leaders, stakeholders, and the entire people of the zone for their patience and trust in the internal dispute resolution mechanisms of the APC.

Udende stated that the restoration of the ‘rightful candidates” and his candidature by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party, reaffirms the confidence in the commitment of APC to justice and due process, and called on APC supporters across Zone A to unite and mobilize massively for all APC candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He stressed that the verdict of the appeal panel should be seen as a victory for democracy and the APC family, rather than for any individual, describing the contest as one among brothers.

Senator Udende, a ranking senator who is the Chairman, Senate Committee on Anti-corruption and Financial Crimes, assured his co-contestants, of his readiness to work with them in the overall interest of the senatorial zone, Benue state and Nigeria as a whole.

Maintaining that the aspirations and welfare of the people will always remain his foremost priority, the lawmaker appealed to all party members and supporters to embrace reconciliation, forgiveness, and unity of purpose as the party prepares for the forthcoming general elections.

According to Iorngaem, “He (Udende), appreciated party faithful across the constituency for the overwhelming confidence reposed in him during the APC, Senatorial Primary Election that took place on 18th May, 2026.

“The lawmaker expressed satisfaction by the firm resolution of APC members despite the activities of unscrupulous individuals who sought to undermine their will

“Senator Udende further commended party leaders, stakeholders, and the entire people of Benue North-East for their patience and trust in the internal dispute resolution mechanisms of the ruling APC.

“He emphasized that the decisions of the appeal panels, and subsequent approval of the National Working Committee (NWC) that restored the rightful candidates, reaffirmed confidence in the party’s commitment to justice and due process without resorting to self-help”, he observed.

In view of the development, Udende, extended an olive branch to his “bosom friend and brother, the former Governor of Benue state, His Excellency Distinguished Senator Gabriel Suswam and other contestants, urging them to join hands with him to secure victory for the APC.”

Udende, a former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in the state, used the avenue to commend the National Chairman of the APC, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, (SGF), Senator George Akume for their leadership that ensured justice prevailed following the National Assembly primaries in Benue state.
