Udinese have set their sights on Nigerian forward Rafiu Durosinmi as they look to strengthen their attacking options ahead of next season, Footynaija.com reports.

The 22-year-old, currently with Czech side Viktoria Plzen, has emerged as a leading candidate to replace Lorenzo Lucca, whose future in Udine remains uncertain.

Born in Lagos on January 1, 2003, Durosinmi honed his skills at Unique Football Academy and Box2Box FC before earning a move to the Czech Republic with MFK Karviná.

Initially part of the club’s B team, he quickly made his mark, earning a first-team call-up in 2021/22 and registering three goals in 20 appearances. Despite Karviná’s relegation, Durosinmi’s performances caught the attention of Viktoria Plzen, who signed him after an impressive loan spell.

Th 2023-24 season was a breakout campaign for the 6ft 4in striker. Operating primarily as a centre-forward but also capable out wide, he delivered nine goals and six assists in 19 appearances across all competitions. His combination of physicality, aerial strength, and intelligent movement made him a constant threat in the final third. Durosinmi is also known for his work rate, often pressing high and tracking back to support his defence.

However, a knee ligament injury temporarily stalled his progress, ruling him out for several months. This setback scuppered a proposed move to Eintracht Frankfurt, with the Bundesliga club reportedly pulling out over concerns about his fitness.

But he returned in early 2025 and has been a key player for Viktoria Plzen.

Udinese’s interest is reportedly strong, with Durosinmi’s current contract in Plzen running until June 2026 and a market valuation of around €7 million.
