The car burst in from the Hotel Zacatlán area until crashing to one side of the Apple Pavilion.
The driver was arrested and several people attending the Gran Feria de la Manzana (Great Apple Fair) were injured, according to reports from a local news outlet.
Red Cross paramedics are on the scene.
Mayor of Zacatlán, Bety Sánchez, wrote in a post on X that “several people” had been struck.
“We immediately activated the emergency response protocols,” she said, adding that the vehicle is in custody and the driver has been detained.
“He appears to have some health issue that may have been the cause that triggered this incident, but acting responsibly and in accordance with regulations, we need the necessary expert examinations to be conducted to confirm or rule out this version,” the mayor said.
