A judge has ruled that several rape claims the long list of civil lawsuits filed against Sean “Diddy” Combs are to be dismissed as the statute of limitations has expired for.
April Lampros has accused the disgraced music mogul of multiple assaults over several years — including an alleged rape in 1995, a sexual assault in 1996, a coerced sexual act and another rape in 1998, and a final alleged assault at her apartment around late 2000 or early 2001.
Diddy’s legal team asked the judge to dismiss claims about any incidents that are found to have occurred before Dec. 19, 2000, when the Gender-Motivated Violence Act went into effect in New York City.
Tyrone Blackburn, attorney for Lampros, confirmed in a statement that “the sole claim against Sean Combs is now the (New York City Gender-Motivated Violence Act) claim.”
Blackburn also revealed that he has informed Diddy’s legal team of his intention to depose the music mogul within the next two months. “I sent Sean Combs’ counsel notice that I intend to depose Sean Combs within 60 days, and I will be serving discovery demands this evening,” Blackburn stated. He added that “discovery demands” will be served in the case within a day. “It is full steam ahead — playtime is over.”
Lampros can still sue Diddy over an incident in which she says the rapper forcibly kissed and groped her in either late 2000 or early 2001.
