Nollywood actor Afeez Oyetoro, popularly known as Saka, has opened up on his working relationship with Funke Akindele.
In a recent interview, he praised the filmmaker, saying she treated him well on set.
Addressing those who say the actress is strict, Saka said he likes it that way, as one can’t handle a multimillion naira project without being strict. He described Funke as humble and someone who doesn’t tolerate nonsense.
He made it clear that the actress doesn’t have a bad temper. According to him, once you do the right thing, she has no problems with you.
Saka added that the award-winning filmmaker doesn’t play with work or entertain jokes. He said when it’s time to entertain, she is playful.
The actor added that he doesn’t have anything against her and warned anyone lazy not to work with her, as she doesn’t like laziness.
Singer, Falz, while speaking on working with Funke, described her as one of the most hardworking entertainers he has ever encountered. He shared how the highest-grossing actress contacted him to feature in her comic series Jenifa’s Diary and how it was fun during the process.
Mercy Johnson had shared her experience working with Akindele on the set of Battle on Buka Street, she said she came out with exploits so it’s always a plus working with people like her.
Actor, Monsuru Ayanfe had shared his experience working with Funke. He recalled Funke’s behaviour toward him when he crashed her car, which left him shocked. He described the filmmaker as someone who gets angry easily but apologises when she is calm.
Veteran actress, Tola Oladokun praised Funke, recounting how she got in contact with her and crediting her with helping her career. She also recalled how she missed her first opportunity to work with Akindele but was given a second chance and has now gotten more opportunities with her.
Ijoba Lande recalled how Funke called him for a movie production at Amen Estate, where he spent one month and was only paid N90,000.
Making a U-turn, the actor tendered an apology to her, claiming that the video was taken out of context. He claimed that Funke paid him more until he left the location after he complained to her.
In 2023, an alleged report made rounds of how Funke pressured media mogul, Mo Abudu to decast Toyin Abraham from Chief Daddy’s movie and replace her with Kate Henshaw, which Mo succumbed to. The blogger further claimed that Funke did the same with Beverly Osu but for the intervention of Joke Silva, Beverly was saved.
